Helena qualified from Leeds Metropolitan University with BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree in 2009. She has worked for a wide range of NHS trusts around the North West of England and the Midlands. As well as working for Ambulant Physiotherapy Ltd Helena works for the University Hospitals of Morecombe Bay as a Specialist Physiotherapist in the musculoskeletal department. In this trust she is a key manual handling trainer and helps run various classes including a specialist amputee class.
Helena has had experience working with athletes at the London Marathon, the Great North Run and the Transplant Games 2014. She was also a games maker at the 2012 London Olympics.
Helena has a special interest in soft tissue release techniques and has found using such techniques hugely beneficial for patients with sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems. Consequently she is qualified in Acupuncture and uses this to complement her hands-on treatment approach.
She has also completed her Pilates Matwork Level 1 to help complement treatment of patients with low back pain and sporting injuries in developing and progressing core strength for prevention of further pain or injury.
